Skills for Life

We’re based in Newbold on Avon about 5 minutes from Rugby town centre. We have Scouts traveling from all over the district because we have the river Avon, the Oxford canal, woodland, space & fields within one minutes walk of our HQ.

Welcome to 5th Rugby (Newbold) Scouts

Welcome to the website for 5th Newbold Scout Group

We have a history that can be traced back to 1910 just three years after Baden Powell started Scouting.

We have been based in Lea Crescent since 1987 and have had many hundreds of young people pass through the group over the years.

We are a very active group and do lots of activities,

We have a few places available for boys & girls to join so please contact one of our leadership team to come along and see if it is your thing.

Adult volunteers

The Scouts award-winning training scheme for volunteers means that adults get as much from Scouts as young people.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
