Explorers

Explorers are encouraged to lead themselves in deciding the programme and direction of the Unit, with support and guidance from leaders.

The section also includes the Young Leaders’ Scheme, where young people are able to take on a leadership role in one of the younger sections.

There is wider scope for activities like offshore sailing, campaigning, performing, parascending, mountaineering and expeditions.

Our Explorer Unit currently has 20 active members. If you would like to join us, or you’ve got an interest in helping us out then please get in touch – we’d love to hear from you!

We meet every Tuesday evening from 7.00pm to 9.00pm at our HQ in Newbold.

Our Explorers also work towards ther Chief Scout awards and Duke of Edinburgh Award.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
